I thought that this library was awesome! I know that most people were burned out by this point in the day, but i thought it was so cool to see how much a library can hold for ONE area of study! As well, I thought that the art books were incredible! why didn't you talk more about those in the blog! they were the best part!
To be honest, one of the things I loved most about this library was the three dimensional decorative paper snowflakes hanging above the front desk :-)
This library was pretty cool. It was interesting to see all the stuff they fit into such a small place! So many services and study rooms for such a modest area.
I know that a lot of people were not very impressed by this library because we had just come from the Chicago Public Library, but personally I thought it was nice. There was such a huge collection of materials all on the same subject that it seemed nearly impossible not to be able to find what you were looking for. Even though the library was not a nice and relaxing place to study at, it still served its purpose by providing the materials needed for a student to get a good education in their subject. My favorite part about the library was the collection on the fifth floor. I especially liked the quilt book with the quotes from women who were held in a psych ward.
I thought that the Art Institute library was ok. The library made very good use of the space it had and it seemed that it contained all of the necessary art books that a library of an art institute should have.
